In the first year, a total of six (6) farmers were selected as master trainer, two (2) from each aspirational villages namely Langdongdai (Block: Mawshynrut, West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya), Jetra (Block: Chokpot, South Garo Hills, Meghalaya) and Mabong(Block: Baiguney, West Sikkim, Sikkim) under the project DBT-BIOTECH-KISAN with a monthly emolument of Rs. 10000.00.
Activities by fellow farmers:
The selected fellow farmers conducted activities in the village in order to improve farmers' association communities in their farming knowledge and provided them with the awareness and skills to improve their agricultural produce and income. They demonstrate activities on application of biopesticides, collect data of different parameters, taking photographs of the plant, reach out to the scientist regarding pest and diseases problems. The fellow farmers involved and learn from each and bridge the gap between the farmers and the scientist.
